Founded in Turin in 1970 by Avv. Giovanni Lageard, Studio Lageard has been a professional association of criminal lawyers since 1989, providing both litigation and out of court advisory services in the area of corporate criminal law with a particular focus on workplace health and safety, environmental crimes, public safety, insolvency and tax.

The firm’s history has been particularly marked by its notable work in workplace health and safety and environmental law. The firm has represented clients in many of the most important cases relating to workplace injuries and occupational diseases and, with the increasing relevance of pollution and environmental disaster in recent years, environmental crimes and public safety.

The firm has always managed sensitive litigation procedures alongside a consistent and thorough legal advisory service, supporting both national and international corporate groups and prominent public or semi-public bodies.

Traditionally, the firm has also supported companies in establishing the best organisational systems of corporate governance, particularly with regards to the delegation of functions in the fields of workplace health and safety and environmental law. The firm also provides advice and assistance in relation to the corporate governance provisions of Legislative Decree 231/2001, which is becoming of increasing relevance to companies and corporate groups operating in Italy.
